Pink Friday:: Tarte Lipsurgence Review

While in Vegas, I picked a Tarte Lipsurgence that I don't think I would've ever tried had I not been splurging
a little bit.

I have one of their Lipsurgence lip tints already in Amused [review], but this time I wanted to try a matte one and picked up Lively. Once I tried it on, I fell in love! Just like their other lip tints, they come in the big chubby pencil form and smell extremely minty.

Lively is such a pretty bright fuschia pink that I think would look gorgeous on warm or cool skin tones.

When you're wearing this lip tint, it feels so comfortable! That's actually a big factor that made me purchase it, because most matte lip products can be pretty drying if you don't prep your lips beforehand. It does stain your lips, so be aware of that. I don't have anything bad to say about this! You can get them for $24 which is somewhat steep, but I am in LOVE with it and it stays on your lips for quite a while so you won't run through the product extremely fast. I think my next color is going to be Envy because I think that'd be such a pretty fall color!

P.S. If you look at my Vegas Haul videos, you can see me wearing it :)

Have you tried any of these matte lip tints? Thanks so much for reading!!

REVIEW:: Ada Cosmetics Blush in Dorothy

I just love multi-purpose products, don't you? Well, I accidentally discovered this blush I received in my October My Shade of Brown box is just that!

The Dorothy blush is a brown with a pink undertone. It's really easy to blend out and has an incredibly smooth texture. I initially thought it wouldn't look good on my skin so I found another great use for it. It's awesome as a base shadow to help blend out the other shadows you put on your eyes!

When I thought it wasn't the shade for my skin, I was was wrong! The pink undertones in this blush gives off the perfect flushed cheek look on me. Be on the lookout for a FOTD with me using this blush both ways.

This blush retails for $12.50 and you can purchase it, along with an entire line of cosmetics on their website.

This or That! Makeup Tag

Hey Guys!!
I haven't done a tag in so long, thanks Miss Dre from "...So She Writes" for tagging me to do this :)

Blush or Bronzer? To be honest, I don't ever wear bronzer!! I haven't found one I like yet. Do you have any good suggestions for darker skin tones?

Lipgloss or Lipstick? Had I taken this a little while ago, lipstick wouldn't have crossed my mind, but I've found so many great long lasting lipsticks so they're definitely my choice when going out. If I'm just running around somewhere, I'll just throw on some gloss.

Chapstick or Lip Butter? Lip Butter!!

Matte or Sparkle Eye Shadow? Such a hard question!! I love them both for different reasons. I only use matte shadows in my crease.

Gel, Liquid, Cream, or Pencil Eyeliner?  Gel or liquid on my lid and pencil in my water line.

Foundation or Concealer? Foundation because with a nice heavy coverage one, you can skip concealer.

Liquid or Powder Foundation? Liquid

Neutral or Statement Eyes? I wear neutral looks most of the time.

Pressed or Loose Shadows? Loose are very pigmented, but I like pressed ones.

Waterproof or Non Waterproof? With mascara it doesn't matter, but I need waterproof eyeliner.

Brushes, Sponges or Fingers? I use my fingers for my foundation and brushes for everything else.

Powder, Cream, or Liquid Highlighter? I don't use a highlighter either haha. I have extremely oily skin so I try not to put too much shimmer on my face.

I tag any of you ladies that haven't done this. I know this has been going around for a while!

W*Wednesday:: Inglot Matte AMC Gel Eyeliner #77[Black]

Size: 5.5 G
Price: $12.00
Purchase: Inglot Stores or Inglot.com

It's a
because...
  • I love the matte finish.
  • Extremely creamy so a little goes a long way.
  • Stays in place once dried.
  • Comes in a wide variety of colors.
  • Does not flake.

I have found that this liner is not waterproof like they claim, but they are extremely long lasting. If you rub too hard, it will fade [but who'd be rubbing their eyes anyway, right?]. Don't get me wrong, this is a great everyday liner, but if you were looking for an eyeliner that will last through extreme circumstances, this isn't the one for you.

Have you tried any of the Inglot liners? What are your thoughts?

REVIEW: Cleopatra's Choice 100% Argan Oil

Ingredients: 100% Pure, Organic (Certified) Argan Oil. Imported from Morocco.

CLAIM:

"This all-natural oil comes from the Argan tree and has been praised for the health benefits it can offer to moisturize dry skin and hair. Many individuals are surprised to discover just how many benefits there are while using this product.
From conditioning dry hair and reducing frizzy hair to treating skin blemishes and blotches on the face, it has lovingly been called the Tree of Life.

Because it is organic, you can safely use it to moisturize and hydrate your skin and nails. It works wonders for the skin and hair as it softens and conditions very quickly. Because this oil can offer so many health benefits, it remains a much sought after product, even today."

DIRECTIONS:

For Face and Body:  Apply and gently massage into skin.
For Hair: Apply a small amount to scalp and hair. Wait up to 20 minutes and shampoo as normal.

MY THOUGHTS:

Face and Body: I've been using a small bit of this oil on my face at night after I do my nightly routine. I was afraid to use too much because I have horrible oily skin but I've found it makes my skin a little bit softer after I wash my face in the morning. This oil did great at moisturizing my hands and making sure my cuticles weren't looking jacked up haha.

Hair: Oh My Goodness, I loved this oil as a hot oil pre poo treatment! I warmed it up in the microwave and poured it over my hair letting it soak in for about 30-45 minutes [I got into a TV show] and then shampooed afterwards. I also used it to seal my hair after washing.

I would definitely be buying more of this oil. I think because it organic, it works extremely well.

Have you tried this oil? What do you think?

*Disclaimer: This Product has been sent to me for review but that, in no way, affects my opinion!*

*Pretty Poll*

Do you prefer liquid, gel, or pencil eyeliner?

Me, personally, I'll always have a special place in my heart for gel eyeliner. I just feel I can get the preciseness needed without it being too complicated. I am branching out into liquid liner though because I find it's quicker!

What about you?

Tropical Traditions Coconut Oil Review & GIVEAWAY!

Hey Guys!
If you've been following my blog and YouTube for a while, you'll know that coconut oil is one of my favorite things to put in my hair. It's a great natural oil that is perfect for sealing in your hair's moisture. Tropical Traditions was nice enough to send me a sample of their Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil to try out. There are also so many other wonderful uses for coconut oil.

My Experience:
I really like this coconut oil. I find that it doesn't have too strong of an unpleasant smell that I've found in other coconut oils and it does a wonderful job to moisturize my hair. The only thing I hate is having to warm it up after each use but that doesn't have to do with this specific brand, it's coconut oil in general! It solidifies at 76 degrees and here in Alabama, there's not many days below that temperature! You can buy this oil on their website and they have many different sizes, it even comes in a 5 gallon pail!

GIVEAWAY!

Tropical Traditions has been sweet enough to offer one of my readers 1 quart [seen in the picture below] of Virgin Coconut Oil of their own! Open to U.S. & Canada only

REQUIREMENTS:
You must follow my blog [mandatory]
You must sign up for their sales newsletter, you can do so here [mandatory]
Follow them on Twitter: @troptraditions & @ttspecialdeals [+1 entry]

Comment below and let me know which entries you did and leave all usernames needed to check for proof. This giveaway will be open for exactly one month, it will close on Oct. 24, 2012. Good Luck!

Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil - 32 oz.Win 1 quart of Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil!
Tropical Traditions is America’s source for coconut oil. Their Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil is hand crafted in small batches by family producers, and it is the highest quality coconut oil they offer. You can read more about how virgin coconut oil is different from other coconut oils on their website: What is Virgin Coconut Oil?

Tropical Traditions also carries other varieties of affordable high quality coconut oil. Visit their website to check on current sales, to learn about the many uses of coconut oil, and to read about all the advantages of buying coconut oil online.
