Naked3 Swatches + Review (WOC Worthy?)

Hey Guys!

I apologize if this is, like, your 100th post about the Naked3 that's popped up on your blog feed in the past couple of weeks, but I just wanted to put my swatches up. I'm not sure how many brown girls have them up and I just want to help in any way possible! :)

So... as you know (or maybe not), the Naked3 is the "rosy" sister palette of the Naked dynasty that Urban Decay has so eloquently built. Like in the past, for $52, you get 12 [all new!] shades and this time the palette comes with a double ended synthetic brush and four Urban Decay Primer Potion samples.

The packaging is the same as the Naked2 except it has this beautiful water ripple effect on the top. I personally don't own the Naked2 so I can't really vouch for the stability of the packaging.

Let's get onto the swatching!

Strange | Dust | Burnout | Limit | Buzz | Trick
Thoughts On The First Six Shades:

  • Strange & Limit are the only two matte shades. They have good pigmentation and aren't chalky on my skin.
  • Dust is very, very odd. One minute it swatches wonderfully & the next it's all patchy and sheer. Be aware of that when using it on the eye.
  • Trick is aptly named because you have to pull out some tricks to get this very sheer shade to show up. It's one of the more unique shades since it has a peachy-golden shift, so it's very disappointing that it requires so much work.

Nooner | Liar | Factory | Mugshot | Darkside | Blackheart

Thoughts On The Last Six Shades:

  • I love every one of these shades!!
  • Factory is my favorite shadow out of all the colors, followed by Darkside.
  • Nooner is the only matte shade in this group and is such a unique color. I cannot wait to play with it!
  • With the shimmery shades, you'll probably need to tap off your brush so you don't experience fallout.

Final Verdict:

Do you need this palette? YES! Even if you have the other two, I still say yes. The only way I'd say steer clear is if pink shadows don't look particularly well on your eyes. Most importantly, is this black girl friendly? Yes it is! I see myself using this so much and I'm very excited! Stay tuned for an upcoming post about possible drugstore "dupes".

This is currently sold out on Sephora.com, but it's on Ulta.com and it's also in stores, so go run and purchase!

Small High End Haul + Swatches

Hey Guys!
I purchased the Urban Decay Vice Palette & MAC Rebel lipstick. I'm super excited about both of these purchases.

[T-B]  Desperation | Junkie | Provocateur | Nevermind

[T-B] Muse | Chaos | Rapture | Echo Beach

[T-B] Jagged | Occupy | Vice | Anonymous

[T-B] Blitz | Unhinged | Noise | Freebird

[T-B] Penny Lane | Black Market | Armor | Laced

All of these shadows except two [Provocateur and Freebird] are extremely smooth and pigmented. Those two shadows are kind of chunky with glitter. There are two completely matte shades [Anonymous and Laced] and the rest have a sheen or metallic finish. It also comes with a double ended brush that's really good quality. I'm so happy I picked it up!

Have you made any purchases recently?
Thanks so much for reading!

TOP 5:: Palettes [4 Drugstore/1 High End]

Hey Guys!
I'm randomly going to be doing a series talking about my "Top 5 favorite [insert product type here]."

Today, It's palettes:

*NOTE* The way I number these palettes are strictly at random, there's no way I could rank them! [Clockwise]

  1. Nicka K Perfect Eighteen Colors: This is my go to palette when I want to do a bright, colorful look [look1 & look2]! I recently bought the second version [see here] and I love it just as much! These palettes are under $5 at your local Beauty Supply Store. [Swatches]
  2. Wet N Wild Vanity 6 Pan*: WnW discontinued their 6-pans and I have no idea why!! This palette is one I use if I'm limited on space and I need a palette that's all in one. This is also easy and a no brainer to grab when I'm in a rush. [Swatches/Look]
  3. Wet N Wild Comfort Zone*: These shadows are soooo buttery, it's unbelievable![look here] Of the permanent 8-pans WnW has, this is the most versatile and definitely my favorite [because I'm a neutral girl]. You can find this for about $4.99 at drugstores and everywhere else WnW is sold! [Swatches]
  4. Urban Decay NAKED: This is a cult favorite but, honestly, there's a good reason! These shadows are super creamy in texture and you have a wide range from light to dark colors. I can't use this palette alone because their matte crease shades are too light for my skin tone. I don't have NAKED2 so I can't really compare the two. You can buy this palette from Ulta, Sephora, and everywhere else Urban Decay is sold for $50[in stores specified]. [Swatches via Temptalia]
  5. Wet N Wild I Heart Matte[LE]*: This was the hardest for me to get my hands on, but I knew I had to get it. At the time this released, I was on the hunt for the perfect matte brown in my crease and once I saw swatches, the hunt began. As you can see, I've hit pan on the matte brown and it's wonderful. The other colors are beautiful as well, they're super easy to blend [as most WnW shadows are] which is very surpring because they're all matte. I hope WnW releases another all matte palette soon!   [Swatches via Nouveau cheap]
[* denotes if I've purchased a backup, a rarity]

Those are my Top 5 Palette, what are yours? Thanks so much for reading!

Breast Cancer Awareness FOTD

 CLICK TO ENTER MY GIVEAWAY!

Save The Ta-Ta's!!!

I wanted to do a look dedicated to BCAM. I don't really like how it came out [which is why there's only one picture], but it's about the cause and not my preferences haha. I used my Urban Decay 15th Anniv. Palette for the eyes; Sedona Lace Blush palette for my cheeks and a mixture of lipsticks for my lips.

Urban Decay De-Slick In A Tube

What it is: This is Urban Decay's Gel form of their De Slick Mattifying Powder.

Their Promise: Urban Decay's gel performs anywhere, anytime: dab it on all day for touch-ups without ruining your perfectly applied makeup. It's completely color-neutral, so it works great on naked skin, under foundation, or over makeup. Formulated to help tighten pores for a youthful, shine-free finish.…

My Opinion: When I first purchased this product, I was baffled at how small it was. I did not think that I would be paying as much for such little product [.67 oz].
Next to a Sinful Colors polish

You honestly do not need a lot though, so it's going to last you a while. I found that this did not keep me matte ALL day[nothing has yet], although it did take longer for me to feel as if I had to use my oil blotting sheets. It is color neutral and I have used it on top of my makeup, but you have to use even less than you do if you use it under your foundation because it will appear ashy. When I used it alone with no other products on my face it dried very very ashy looking. You could definitely tell I'd put something on and it stood out white on my skin, so I wouldn't suggest using it that way. I do love it because it's the closest I've gotten to making my skin stay matte longer. Like I said, it doesn't stay that way ALL day but I can definitely tell a difference between when I am wearing it, and when I'm not.

Price: $28.00USD

Where You Can Find It: Any store that sells Urban Decay products, such as: Ulta & Sephora.

Rating: 8.75/10 ~ It could be better, but it's the best I've found & I will be repurchasing!
