W*Wednesday:: L'Oreal Colour Riche Caresse Lipstick

Hey Guys!
Time for another review :)

Violet Chiffon

It's a
because...

  • It's not extrememly moisturizing.
  • The color fades within 2 hours without even eating or drinking.
  • Although it's a drugstore item, spending $8-10 is too much for a lipstick that doesn't perform well.

I hate how drying this lipstick feels on my lips! I do want to try a differnet color just to see if this one was a dud or if it's the entire line. It's such a bummer because I love the color and I really wanted to love the lipstick.

Have you tried any lipsticks from this line? Have you had any of my specific issues?

Thanks so much for reading!!!

Product Spotlight: Revlon Lip Butters

Hey Guys!
The Revlon Lip Butters are something that have been a BIG hit since they were debuted almost a year ago. I definitely think they've started to be overlooked and I'm doing this post to encourage you to dig in your stash and pull them out to play once again! I have 5 colors currently, but I plan to go and purchase some of the darker colors soon.

Lollipop | Creme Brulee | Tutti Frutti | Sweet Tart | Sugar Plum

I still find myself reaching for the lip butters because they are like a lipstick, just more moisturizing. My favorite is Sugar Plum, I've repurchased 5x!
How many do you own, and do you enjoy them? Pull them out of your stash and use them today!
Thanks so much for reading.

W*Wednesday:: NARS Sheer Matte Foundation

Hey Guys!
Time to review my first foundation of this series.

It's a

because...

  • This foundation didn't give me the matte finish I was looking for.
  • It oxidized and made me look really red.
  • It was very expensive, $42.

First off, let me say that this is truly a great foundation. The formula and coverage [medium to heavy] was awesome and I think it'd be great for someone who doesn't have extremely oily skin. It has more of a semi-matte finish and when I pick foundations, that's really not what I'm looking for. That, and the color selection, was the only reason I didn't like it. Had it been more matte, I would've gladly gone back and tried to find one that didn't make me look so red. I do recommend this for normal and combo skinned girls maybe in the summer, but oily girls should stay away! If you're interested, I suggest you go into Sephora and get a sample and test it out on your skin a few times.

Have you tried this foundation? If so, what are your thoughts? Thanks so much for reading!

NOTD: Tiptoeing Into Fall

Hey Guys!
On my nails I'm wearing Zoya's Moxie[Raspberry] & Wet N Wild's Club Havana[Orange]. I think I'm tiptoeing into fall polishes with this manicure because I'm still holding onto the summer and bright colors with the peachy orange accent nails. Zoya still, in my opinion, has the best polish formula I've ever tried! No color has ever been streaky [aside from their matte polish line] and have been opaque in two coats!

Have you already brought out your fall colors or are you still clinging to summer brightness? Thank you for reading!

MAC Yung Rapunxel Swatches + Possible Dupes

Hey Guys!

MAC has collaborated with Azealia Banks and released a lipstick named Yung Repunxel. It's described as a "Deep, rich plum with amplified finish". This is a Limited Edition shade selling for $15.00.

My Thoughts:: The formula reminds me more of a lustre than amplified. I applied it directly out of the tube and didn't find it hard to make even on the lips.It also didn't take more than about two layers to be opaque. It feels very creamy on the lips and didn't give me the "I need some lip balm!" panic feeling that some lipsticks tend to do. I wore it for about 4 hours with minimal eating or drinking and it lasted great. It does stain your lips slightly, so be aware of that!

There are some close drugstore dupes I found if you wanted the dark purple "vamp" look without the $15 price tag:

DUPE ALERT:: As you can see, Revlon's Va Va Violet is a dead on ringer for Yung Rapunxel! The only difference is the formula. Yung Repunxel has a much creamier, smooth texture than Va Va Violet, but if you just have to have the color, Va Va Violet would work perfectly!

The MAC website currently says "out of stock- ships soon!" So they could be restocking soon. Click here to order yours!

Have you picked up this lipstick? Thanks so much for reading!

||Product Review|| Twists 'n Locs Olive Oil Super Medicated Growth Spray

Hey Guys!
I was contacted a short while ago by the company Twists 'n Locs to review a product of my choice. After looking at their website, I decided to choose the Medicated Growth Spray.

I've used up quite a bit!

Ingredients: Aqua [water], Olea Europea [olive oil], Melaleuca Allernifolia [tea tree oil], Glycerin, Apocynum Cannabinum [Indian Hemp], Aloe Barbadensis [aloe vera], Triticum Vulgare Germ [wheat germ], Retinal Palmitate [vitamin A], Ergocalciferlol [vitamin D], Tocopherol Acetate [vitamin E], Cetrimonium, Methylparaben, Nano Multivitamins A, D, E & F, and Fragrance [parfum].

Claim: Formulated to condition, strengthen and put back vital nutrients while restoring moisture to your twists, locs, braids and natural styles. Leaves hair soft and shiny while it protects hair from sun or chlorine damage. Contains Tea Tree and Olive Oils which minimizes bacterial growth that produces scalp odor. It helps alleviate dry and itchy scalp. Great for all climates.

My Thoughts: My reason for picking this spray out was because of my bout with dry scalp. Seeing tea tree and olive oils being one of the main ingredients also made me want to pick it out. I've been using it while I've had my crochet braids in and itching like crazy! It made my scalp tingle but it wasn't too harsh, it just reminded me of a medicated grease I'd used in the past. I massaged it in like the directions suggested and within about 5 minutes, the tingling and itching had stopped. My scalp did feel moisturized but my hair was itching again halfway through the next day. This would be a great spray to use everyday when you have a protective style and want to stop your scalp from itching so much.

You can buy their products online here. Thanks so much for reading!!!

**This product was sent for review but all of my opinions and thoughts are truthful and my own, as always**

W*Wednesday:: ELF Studio Kabuki Face Brush

Hey Guys!
It's time for another review :)

Standing next to my very battered credit card holder.

CLAIM: This anti bacterial, synthetic haired Taklon brush is softer and more absorbent and can be used with wet or dry products. Be a professional makeup artist and create a flawless look with this brush! Our handy and easy to use Kabuki Brushes provide a light to full coverage on your face or body to ensure a flawless finish. The compact brush is perfectly sized to allow for precise and controlled application of bronzer, powder, or a highlighter on your skin.
*Vegan Friendly

It's A
Because...

  • It's a very soft brush.
  • It's great for buffing out blush if you happen to put too much on.
  • If used for powder foundation, it leaves a great flawless finish.
  • It has minimal shedding after washing.
  • It has very dense bristles which helps with the buffing.
  • At $6, it's super affordable.

The only bad things [although not deal breakers] I can say about this brush is that it's density makes it hard to get completely clean and it can be difficult to find in stores. Other than those small nitpicks, this is a great brush to add to your collection. Also, as you can see from the second picture, it's quite small, so just a heads up!

Have you tried this brush? What do you think about it? Thanks so much for reading!!
