Past NOTDs

Hey guys!! Sorry for not posting lately! If you follow me on twitter you'd know I got Tonsillitis last Sunday and it has not been a fun experience lol. On top of that, I kept working because I thought it was only a bad cold so, that, on top of going to school left me with no energy to do anything else!! Anywho, I just wanted to show you some nails I've been wearing the last couple of weeks:

The first manicure is with a polish that's been one of my favorites for a while and it's Essie's Turquoise & Caicos

It's such a beautiful, bright turquoise creme and I wear it year round. I topped it with the Essie Shine Of The Times top coat I'd won from Ulta on Twitter a little while ago.

I really love this top coat! I've worn it over a purple before and it looks great on that too. My mom even complimented me on this manicure which is a shocker because she is not into hair, nails, or makeup! *high five*

The next manicure is with China Glaze's Lubu Heels [mentioned in my Top 10 post]. I love this black polish with the peek-a-boo red glitter that catches the light.

Well that's what I've been rocking on my nails lately! Once I fully get better, I'll be doing more makeup and review posts! Have you tried any of these polishes? What are you wearing on your nails right now? Thanks so much for reading!

| REVIEW | Sephora Collection:: Glossy Gloss

Hey guys!! I think I may have found my new gloss I love and I did it by complete accident. I have been on the hunt for a purple lip gloss for the longest. While browsing Sephora, I saw what I thought was the answer to all of my wishes. Unfortunately, it wasn't, but I did discover my new favorite lipgloss! I picked up the purple gloss in Tangy Bite and it looked beautiful in the tube, but the color didn't transfer very well onto my lips. It's okay though, because the formula and taste of it made up for the lack of pigmentation! It is not sticky, and its in a squeeze tube which is my favorite type of way to apply lip gloss. I went back a couple days later to get Cocktail On A Beach and I found it's color shows up more than my first one, so I guess it depends on the color of your lips and which color gloss you choose. They taste sweet, there isn't really a specific taste, just sweet lol! If you read my favorite lip balm post, you know I love things that taste good! These are $10USD in Sephora stores and online. Definitely go check these out!

||HAUL|| New Black Radiance Palette + Swatches [[PIC HEAVY]]

So you saw in my haul that I picked up one of the new Black Radiance palettes. They look so similar to the Wet N Wild 8 pan palettes, and I found out on G at Nouveau Cheap's post that they are actually sister companies. Who knew?! I only chose one of the three new palettes because it was the only one that appealed to me. The palette I picked up was Urban Jungle:

I'm a sucker for greens & browns so I had to pick this palette up! It was either $7.99 or $8.99, I can't remember exactly and I picked it up at Walgreens. It has a mixture of matte and slightly metallic shades. It's the perfect palette for every day looks.

Urban Jungle [L], WnW's Comfort Zone [R]
The Comfort Zone palette by Wet N Wild seems to be the sister palette to Urban Jungle.

As you can see, the backs of both palettes look almost identical.

SWATCHES:

Urban Jungle

Comfort Zone

When looking at the swatches, the only thing similar about these palettes is the fact that they are full of earth tones. If you already have Comfort Zone, you could still buy Urban Jungle and not feel like you have two of the same palettes. The only problems out of the Urban Jungle palette were the top two "browbone" colors. They required a little more effort to swatch than the other colors.

I was so excited to try the palette out, I did a look the same day haha.

The only thing extra I used was the brown from Wet N Wild's I Heart Matte palette in my crease.

This palette is definitely up to par with the Wet N Wild palettes I have. I think you should check them out! Have you spotted any of these in your Walgreens? Thanks so much for reading!

||HAUL|| New Wet N Wild Lipsticks + Swatches

Wet N Wild released new Megalast lipsticks, and although I'm not a fan of lipsticks, I am a fan of bright colors! The two colors [out of four, I think] I got were Don't Think Pink and Purty Persimmon

Don't Think Pink is a bright blue toned pink.
Purty Persimmon is a bright reddish orange.

They are a semi- matte formula. I put on some lip balm and blotted the excess off and they glided on pretty smooth. I would suggest doing that because when I swatched my hand, the lipsticks tugged at my skin. They didn't feel drying, but again, the lip balm could've helped with that. I wish Purty Persimmon was a tad bit more on the orange side, but I can get over that. These almost remind me of the lipsticks from the Iris Apfel collection that MAC put out not too long ago because of the bright colors. I purchased these from Walgreens for $1.99USD

SWATCHES:

Don't Blink Pink; Purty Persimmon

Purty Persimmon

I compared Purty Persimmon to my Revlon Lip Butter [review here] in Tutti Frutti, the closest orange lip color I have.

Purty Persimmon is on the left. As you can see, the lip butter is creamier in texture and not as red toned.

Have you tried, or are you interested in trying, any of these? Are you going to rock bright, bold lips for the spring and summer? I think I am! Thanks so much for reading!!

Mini HAUL!

Hey guys, I haven't really been doing too many hauls here because I haul way too much stuff at one time for you look at and you'll get bored!! So, if you want to see the recent things I've gotten please check out my new YouTube page!! This haul is small [[haha I rhymed]] so I thought I'd show you some stuff I picked up!

I went into Walgreens for shampoo and OF COURSE I got sucked into the makeup aisle [you guys should've seen me freaking out]. They had allll of the new collections out!! That almost NEVER happens! But, I composed myself and only got two things I really wanted, along with the shampoo

Reviews coming soon!

  • CoverGirl Queen Collection Lasting Matte Pressed Powder
  • Black Radiance palette in Urban Jungle
  • Shea Moisture Moisture Retention Shampoo

And then the Mister & I stopped by Yankee Candle in the mall. I'd never had a candle warmer, and using the Tarts [I think they're called] are so much cheaper than candles...So I went a little crazy. Also, alot of the scents were only .50!! Score!

Currently melting the lemon one=HEAVEN! I love lemon scents!

Hope you guys enjoyed this haul! Have you tried any of these things already, if so how'd you like them? Thanks so much for reading!!!

Pink Wednesday NOTD!

I haven't done a NOTD post in forever! I haven't been really wearing anything photogenic lately though. This is a manicure I wanted to show! I used Zoya's Pandora polish for the base. Pandora is a toned down baby pink. It was a looking a little flat to me so I topped all the nails with China Glaze's Haute Metal glitter crackle. I love the pink on pink look!

My Very First NARS Blush!

I really never fell for the hype of NARS blushes. I know that everyone loves them, but the $27 price tag was just too much for me. Well, for Christmas I received a gift card to Sephora so I decided to get some things I wouldn't have bought normally. The NARS blush Desire was one of those. I'd been lusting after this blush for a very, very long time and I'm happy I got my hand on it! Desire is a beautiful matte, cool toned, bubble gum pink. It. Is. Gorgeous! I am in love, it is everything I'd hoped it would be.  It blends beautifully and it stays on longer  than any other blush I've had! I see I'm going to have to invest in some more soon! I'd originally wanted Taj Mahal, but I was told they only sell those at NARS counters? Bummer! Here are the swatches!

I compared it with some of my pink blushes I already have in my collection:

Do you own any NARS blushes, and which ones would you suggest I get next? Thanks so much for reading!

FOTD: New England Patriots

Hey guys!! The summer look yesterday must've put me in a colorful mood! I decided to do a football inspired look based off the Mister's favorite team, the Patriots! Now, I'm not a NFL fan, so I pretty much root for who he roots for lol. This was fun though and I think I'll try to do other teams.

::PSA:: I know other people have done this type of thing before and I am, in no way, copying them. This is my own interpretation and me just having fun playing around with colors I may not have put together before! That being said, here's the look:

my eyes look huge

  • The blue on my lid is the blue from the Wet N Wild baked palette Baked Not Fried.
  • The red in my crease is from my BH Cosmetics 88 Matte palette.
  • The white eyeliner in my waterline is a no name one I got from the Beauty Supply store.
  • The white is just a random white shadow.
  • The red lipstick is a no name red lipstick I had laying around [I hate myself in red lipstick!]

I hope you guys liked this look, GO PATS!! Lol. Is there another team [any sport] you guys want me to do?! Thanks so much for reading!

EOTD: Ready for Summer!

Hey guys! I haven't really been wearing anything spectacular makeup-wise lately, just my normal every day eye with a pop of color underneath or just colored liner....

Sometimes if I'm going out, I may vamp up my everyday look by making the crease darker and the lips brighter....

BUT yesterday I played in some color and came up with a bright and fun eye that I'll be re-doing when it starts to heat up! It definitely shows I'm ready for summer =)

I hope you guys like it and it puts you guys in a warmer frame of mind!

**NOTE** I've thought of another beauty resolution, I will tackle false lashes and fully tackle winged liner this year[I'm still not at my best]. I also will learn how to do makeup on other people better!

I know I said my Blog Resolution will be to do more reviews and I've been doing pretty good! [1st review here] And be on the look-out for another one in the next couple of days on my very first NARS blush! Thanks so much reading!!

REVIEW: L'Oreal Colour Riche Balm in Tender Mauve

Hey guys!! I'd said my blog New Year's Resolution would be to do more reviews, and I'm sticking to it! I'm going to try to review at least one product a week! So, first up is the L'Oreal Colour Riche Balm in Tender Mauve. This was given to me for a Christmas present from my sis Reni. Tender Mauve is a cool toned pinkish purple.

L'Oreal's Claim [taken from the website]:

"Indulge your lips with Colour Riche Balm. This tinted SPF 15 lip balm provides a hint of luscious, kissable color, smoothing lips instantly and for a full 8 hours of continuous hydration. Lips are softer and more supple all day long- and keeps conditioning even after its been removed."

My Thoughts:

I truly enjoy this balm. It's comparable to the Revlon Lip Butters [review here] but it's different in some ways. It doesn't get as opaque on the lips as quickly as the Lip Butters do. It's much glossier than the Lip Butters [didn't think it could happen], which is a (+) in my book because I don't always feel like layering my lip products with gloss, I'm lazy!! lol =)

The packaging is really chic and fancy looking. I like the gold tube and the gold writing. The fact that you have to line it up just right to close it can be annoying sometimes, but that helps with making sure it doesn't come open in your bag so that's something I can get over.

It does feel really moisturizing on your lips. The 8hr claim is something I can't really vouch for because I like to reapply my lip products more frequently than that, 8 hrs would be torture. I'm interested in trying more colors, there are 7 more out there. These retail for about $7.95, but it really depends on where and when you get them.

SWATCHES:

Have you tried any of these balms? Which company's "balm" products do you like more? Thanks so much for reading!
