My Hair The Past Week :)

Hey Guys!

As many of you know, I am a natural haired girl but I mostly keep them in braids because I find it easier to maintain in my lifestyle! I usually let my hair stay out and "breathe" for a little while so I can do any kind of treatments I need to do if it happened to get too dry while in my braids. So here's my hair from last week!

Failed Chunky Twist Out
Successful chunky twist out!!

Another twist out with smaller twists.
Twist out. I pinned the sides back and let the front be a bang.

Same day as the picture above. I ended up twisting and pinning back the front.

As you can see, I love twist outs! They're fairly quick to do and I love the results. I need help with chunky twist outs, though, because they 8/10 never turn out right. Any advice?

May Ipsy Bag:: Spring Fling

Hey Guys!

My May Ipsy bag came in the mail today and I'm really happy with it!

I think the bag is super cute this month & I've come to really enjoy having different makeup bag options.

INSIDE:

  • Pacifica Island Vanilla Perfume Roll-On $12: "Inspired by the unique magic of Tahitian vanilla, this sensual blend sets sweet and sultry vanilla absolute, with honey-jasmine notes and a touch of fruitiness, against a deep and beautiful base of tea."  This. Smells. Heavenly! Ipsy is really making me fall in love with Pacifica. Before them, I'd never really heard of the brand.
  • Juice Beauty Reflecting Gloss in Fig $15- At first I didn't think I'd like this gloss, but once I put it on my lips, it turned out to be a glossy nude color.
  • Zoya nail polish in Blu $8: This polish is part of their spring collection. It's a color I don't own and I was happy to see a Zoya polish because I think they have the best formula out there.
  • Yaby Concealer Refill in Pecan $4.85: This is really the only thing I'm disappointed with this month. I wish they'd sent the color Chocolate Chip or something at least a tad bit darker. I think they really failed with this item.
  • Pacifica Coconut Crushed Pearl Luminizing Body Butter $6.50: AH! I love anything coconut!!! I already fell in love with the body butter from them in my past Ipsy bag and this one is no different. This has tiny sparkles in it so it'll be great for summertime when I'm wearing shorts.

The value of this bag was WELL over $10! Keep up the great work Ipsy. Did you get this bag? How'd you like It?

OOTD: Every Girl Needs A Little Black Dress!!

Hey Guys!!

Luxe Vain was super sweet to send me this "V" Mesh black skater dress to try out and review. I fell in love with it from the first moment I put it on! It's classy, but it has a hint of sexiness with the mesh "V" in the front and the entire back being mesh as well! You could totally get really funky and a bright colored bra underneath, but I decided to let it speak for itself and not draw any attention away.

My photographer got a little crazy with the editing

Dress: Luxe Vain | Shoes: Charlotte Russe | Earrings: Kohl's

I have no bad things to say about Luxe Vain and their customer service. Every time I emailed them, they were quick to e-mail me back and the shipping only took about 3 days. I'm so glad to be adding to my LBD collection, you can never have too many!

Fragrances & Body Lotions I've Been Loving Lately

Hey Guys!!

I'm not really a seasonal scenter, which means I don't really change up what I'm wearing because it's more of a *insert season here* smell.

I have been liking some stereotypical Spring scents though, so I thought I'd share!

  • Bath & Body Works Rays Of Citrus Fine Fragrance Mist: This isn't a typical citrus scent, it has somewhat of a musky undertone. It's unfortunately discontinued, but if you want a light citrus body mist, I suggest this one.
  • Beyonce Pulse Eau de Parfum Spray:  *notes: a blend of Ripe mandarin, juicy pear, spicy ginger orchid and tangy orange blossom.* I love how light this fragrance is!! One thing I do notice when I rub it into my skin is that it emits a lovely vanilla scent [I researched and Madagascar vanilla is a base note]. My only complaint is that it doesn't last long. It does have a better staying power when it's layered with it's lotion though.
  • Ixora Botanical Beauty Whip It Up Shea Butter in Vanilla: I love to support small businesses, especially when they know what they're doing! IxoraBB sells body/hair products and the WIUSB is great at moisturizing your skin. They have tons of scents, but I got vanilla because I know I can wear it under any fragrance I happen to put on! *Website*
  • The Body Shop Satsuma Body Butter: This smells SO good!! If you weren't aware, Satsumas are a type of orange and this butter is full of tangy, citrusy scented goodness! It melts into your skin and leaves it feeling super soft. I use this on my neck/arms only because I don't want waste too much product!!

If you couldn't tell I love the smell of citrus!! It's probably my favorite tied with tropical scents [pineapple, coconut, & mango]. These four are all light scents that I think are great for this season!!

What have you been wearing lately??

Let's Get Glowy For Summer!! ::Benefit Watts Up Review::

Hey Guys!

I've never been a stickler for highlights, so when I found out what Sephora was giving away this year for a birthday gift, I was a little less excited.

I'm happy to say that the Benefit Watts Up highlighter is such a beautiful gold, champagne color that will look nice on any skin tone!

I use this under my brow and in the corners of my eyes since I don't wear highlight on my face [too oily]. The full-size of this product is $30USD/$36CAD, which is pretty pricey, but you really don't have to use a lot so it'll last for ages. I suggest you sign up for Sephora's Beauty Insiders if your birthday hasn't already passed so you can get the mini for free!! If your birthday has passed and you want to go out and buy it, it can be purchased at Sephora, Ulta, or on their website.

Have you tried this highlighter? Do You wear highlighters?
