Curly Girl Beauty Smooth n' Soft Lip Set Review

Hey Guys!

Today I want to introduce you to a small business run by a fellow blogger friend Santana from Curly Girl Beauty. Her store, Shop Curly Girl Beauty, sells body butters, bath bars, and even Black African Soap Face & Body Wash but today I want to talk about her lip products.

The Smooth n' Soft Set consists of a lip balm and a lip scrub and retails for $7.50[on sale]:

How cute is the packaging?!

The lip balm comes in 9 different varieties in the tube but she also sells them in the tub [5 varieties] if that's more your thing.

The Sugar Lippy Scrub comes in two flavors: Peppermint & Grapefruit. I chose Grapefruit for both since I love that scent.

What The Site Says:
"CGB sugar lip scrub is amazing & not only sloughs away dead skin cells but also leaves a layer of mango butter lip balm behind to love your lips.
CGB lip balm is soft & silky, leaving your skin smooth to the Kiss ;)
Get this set today & get to Smoochin!"

My Thoughts:
I am SO impressed!! I had to try out the lip balm as soon as it arrived [with fast shipping] and was so surprised with how buttery soft it was. The scent is dead on & there is no flavor. That's kind of a good thing because I'd just eat it off if there was lol!
The Sugar Lippy Scrub is so great. I have notoriously dry lips so they're almost always chapped and I don't take care of them like I should. This scrub did great at getting rid of the dead skin on my lips and leaving them soft. It's one of the best I've tried! The sugar doesn't melt too quickly and actually does the job of exfoliating my lips [unlike this one].

I really suggest this set and it's a great bargain. Make sure you check out her shop and buy some products!

Maybelline Color Sensational High Shine Gloss in Mirrored Plum

Hey Guys!

I picked up one of the Limited Edition lip glosses from Maybelline.

Mirrored Plum is a bright purple gloss. It's not sticky and very pigmented. This is my first Maybelline gloss but I plan to buy more! I purchased this from Walgreens for $6.50. There are 3 other colors in this LE collection.

Do You Have Any Of These Glosses? Which Ones Do You Suggest?

Illamasqua Blush in Thrust:: Review + Swatches

Hey Guys!

I want to show you a new addition to my blush collection.

Thrust is a bright magenta with a purple undertone.

The texture & pigmentation of this blush [and all of them!] is top notch. You are truly getting your moneys worth when you buy their blushes. With that being said, they are on the pricier side, $26, but I believe you get what you pay for! You can buy this blush on Sephora.com & Illamasqua.com and if you plan to venture out and buy a high end blush, I highly suggest you check this brand out. You will not be disappointed! Fab Find Under $5:: Absolute! Perfect Eighteen Colors Palette

Hey Guys!!

Today I want to share with you a gem I found last year in my local beauty supply store. I don't know about you, but sometimes I pass over things that are so cheap because I'm sure the quality will be poor. Am I the only one? Well, I decided to pick this Absolute! palette in Eclipse up and I'm so glad I did.

Reason I adore this palette:

  • These eye shadows are extremely pigmented and not at all chalky.
  • This is a palette that you can put in your bag for a trip and do multiple day or night looks.
  • It has a matte brown and black. Hello!
  • It's extremely cheap, $3.99 at Beauty Supply Stores!
  • There are a mixture of matte and metallic shadows.
  • It's perfect for neutral or bright color lovers.

I love this palette!! I don't use the bright colors as much as I should, I don't know why! It has my HG gold eye shadow, it goes on your lid looking like a foil. So beautiful! The only thing that would make it even better would be a blue and green shadow plopped in there somewhere, but I can deal. Absolute! also has another variation of this palette that has more blues and greens in it if you like to wear those colors over pinks and purples.

SWATCHES[on bare skin]:

Have you seen any of these palettes before? If you do, I suggest you pick them up. They're a great value!!

CoverGirl 1-Kit Eye Shadow in Tapestry Taupe

Hey Guys!

I won a Twitter giveaway from Walgreens and in that prize pack was this single eye shadow from CoverGirl.

Tapestry Taupe is a true taupe leaning towards silver with a metallic finish.

The texture of the shadow is very dry and because of that, one swipe doesn't give the full opacity that it's capable of.  But luckily it's buildable and when layered, it really shines.

One Swipe | Three Swipes

The 1-Kit eye shadows come in 20 shades and are available wherever CoverGirl is sold and they retail for under $4. I recommend picking up this shade for an everyday lid color!

MAC Pigment Haul + Swatches

Hey Guys!

I ordered a few MAC pigments from Makeup Geek's website and I was pretty happy with my purchases so I wanted to share them with you!

Clockwise: Reflects Blackened Red | Reflects Antique Gold | Museum Bronze | Reflects Turquatic

SWATCHES:

The only one I was disappointed in was the Reflects Turquatic because it's more of a glitter, but I guess it could work over a pretty blue shadow.

So, are there any other pigments you suggest I should get? Because, I am definitely buying more! lol
