W*Wednesday:: NYX Full Coverage Concealer in Orange

Hey Guys!

I wanted to start this W*Wednesday off with a little disclaimer. These Wednesdays are strictly reserved for reviews on certain products in my collection that I either love or dislike. A majority of these Wednesdays will be positive reviews simply because I don't like taking the time out to talk bad about a product. I'm not saying that I never will, but I somewhat feel like it's a waste of energy. It may seem like I "love" everything I talk about and that's because I have more motivation to share with you guys the products I love and think you should try out than the ones I think you should never buy.
I also throw away or return a lot of the products I dislike so that's another reason I'll rarely have negative reviews on my blog. There have been plenty of products I've bought that never grace my blog simply because I don't see the point. I know that negative reviews also help you out as well, so if you would like to see more stuff I dislike, I'll gladly start putting those up a little bit more, just let me know! Alright, now that all of that is out of the way, let's get on with this review!!

Heavy swatch | Blended out

It's a

because...

  • This concealer is extremely creamy!!
  • The blending abilities are endless.
  • Highlights the under eye incredibly.
  • Great for warm skin tones [like me].
  • Can be built up for more coverage.
  • Counteracts dark circles under the eyes.
  • Only a small amount is needed.
  • Affordable: $4-$7 depending on where you shop.

This is a pretty nice concealer. Because it's super creamy, it tends to crease but using an eyeshadow primer underneath it can take care of that problem. I've been using this for the past couple of weeks and it gives me great coverage and also gives me that "Kim K" highlight under my eyes without looking too crazy. The only thing I wish was different was the packaging. I don't really like pots when dealing with makeup because my nails are long enough for the product to get stuck under my nails and it can get sorta messy!

This concealer also comes in skin tone colors as well as other correcting colors such as green, yellow, and lavender. You can purchase them here or here. [cheapest I've found online]

Have you tried this concealer, what are your thoughts?

Moisturize Your Hair!!

Hey Guys!

Since it gets really hot here in Alabama, retaining moisture in my hair is super critical and somewhat a difficult task. Through research and experience, I've come up with a few tips that'll help you keep your hair moisturized all year round!

  • No product is more important to your hair than water!! Your hair literally drinks it up!
  • One reason your hair becomes dry is because you aren't properly "sealing" it in with oils. My favorite oils to use are Extra Virgin Olive Oil/Coconut Oil, Jamaican Black Castor Oil, and Jojoba Oil.
  • Use a moisturizing deep conditioner with heat. If you can't use it with heat, try to at least let the DC stay on for a few hours for optimum results.
  • Do a final rinse with cold water, it's a shock to your senses, but that's what helps close your cuticles and help your hair stay moisturized longer.
  • Sleep with a satin cap/pillowcase! Sleeping on cotton will suck all of the moisture out. No Bueno.
  • Use a leave-in conditioner after you shampoo and before you add any other oils/creams. It's an extra layer of protection.
  • Use the "baggying" method.

I hope these tips helped, Thanks so much for reading!!!!

TOP 5:: Palettes [4 Drugstore/1 High End]

Hey Guys!
I'm randomly going to be doing a series talking about my "Top 5 favorite [insert product type here]."

Today, It's palettes:

*NOTE* The way I number these palettes are strictly at random, there's no way I could rank them! [Clockwise]

  1. Nicka K Perfect Eighteen Colors: This is my go to palette when I want to do a bright, colorful look [look1 & look2]! I recently bought the second version [see here] and I love it just as much! These palettes are under $5 at your local Beauty Supply Store. [Swatches]
  2. Wet N Wild Vanity 6 Pan*: WnW discontinued their 6-pans and I have no idea why!! This palette is one I use if I'm limited on space and I need a palette that's all in one. This is also easy and a no brainer to grab when I'm in a rush. [Swatches/Look]
  3. Wet N Wild Comfort Zone*: These shadows are soooo buttery, it's unbelievable![look here] Of the permanent 8-pans WnW has, this is the most versatile and definitely my favorite [because I'm a neutral girl]. You can find this for about $4.99 at drugstores and everywhere else WnW is sold! [Swatches]
  4. Urban Decay NAKED: This is a cult favorite but, honestly, there's a good reason! These shadows are super creamy in texture and you have a wide range from light to dark colors. I can't use this palette alone because their matte crease shades are too light for my skin tone. I don't have NAKED2 so I can't really compare the two. You can buy this palette from Ulta, Sephora, and everywhere else Urban Decay is sold for $50[in stores specified]. [Swatches via Temptalia]
  5. Wet N Wild I Heart Matte[LE]*: This was the hardest for me to get my hands on, but I knew I had to get it. At the time this released, I was on the hunt for the perfect matte brown in my crease and once I saw swatches, the hunt began. As you can see, I've hit pan on the matte brown and it's wonderful. The other colors are beautiful as well, they're super easy to blend [as most WnW shadows are] which is very surpring because they're all matte. I hope WnW releases another all matte palette soon!   [Swatches via Nouveau cheap]
[* denotes if I've purchased a backup, a rarity]

Those are my Top 5 Palette, what are yours? Thanks so much for reading!
